Claire Melia-Tompkins


Currently in post as the strategic lead for internal and change communications at Camden Council, Previous roles have been at Camden Council, working on the change programme for 2014, including new ways of working, accommodation moves and the roll-out of new technology.
She has also worked at Brent Council, Ofsted, Haringey Council, Lambeth Council and Harrow Council. She also volunteers her time for free, providing support to the Metropolitan Police Service Special Constable media team by working on their social media output, writing their newsletter and putting together their annual report.

Michael Blowers


Michael runs Media Evaluation Research, an independent agency specialising in media insight. He spent 14 years at TNS Media Intelligence (part of Kantar/WPP) where he started their PR analysis service. His team provided media analysis and insights to The England and Wales Cricket Board, Gallaher brands and, PwC, Siemens, The Meat & Livestock Commission, the MOD and Turner Broadcasting.
He started Media Evaluation Research in 2005 now providing insight analysis to clients including Allianz Insurance, RSC, American Eagle, Sony Mobile, Hobbs and Glenfiddich. He has Diplomas from the Chartered Institute of Marketing and the Chartered Institute of Public Relations; and is also one of their Accredited Practitioners. He has been a judge for the CIPR's Excellence & Pride awards. He has passed the Google Analytics Individual Qualification.

Maud Davis


Maud is a Fellow of the CIPR and is a CIPR trainer and practising PR consultant.
She currently runs short 'taster' webinars as well as other face-to-face media, management and writing skills workshops for the CIPR. She works with the PR Academy, the largest qualifications centre for the CIPR, and is course leader and tutor for the Advanced Certificate and Foundation Certificate. She is a visiting lecturer in PR/media relations at the London College of Communication and Middlesex University.
She has also designed and delivered training courses for UNHCR, Cambridge University Press and leading PR consultancies.
She mentors PR executives/managers and small businesses (including working with the Prince's Trust) and is Belbin Team Roles Accredited.
Alongside this, she is an independent PR consultant whose clients include Nordic Bakery, Yorkshire Provender soups, French cheese and wines, and NIE Energy and works as an associate consultant with Ceres PR.

Andrea Breau

Andrea has broad cross sector experience, both in house and agency, and began her career as a journalist. She has a strong track record of aligning communications to business need within the public, private and media sectors.
Andrea has been a civil servant for 9 years working in a number of government departments. She is currently in post as Deputy Head of Communications at the Office of the Public Guardian.
Andrea is a member of the Government Communications Service, the CIPR and has been a CIPR Accredited Practitioner since 2010.

Karen Clarke

Karen has recently joined SEMLEP as Communications and Marketing Manager. Karen has experience working both in-house and as a freelancer with marcomms roles in charitable organisations VoiceAbility and UKCCA, and event project management at Pumphouse Productions Ltd.
Prior to completing her MA PR at Bournemouth, Karen worked in the economic development arena. Her roles included associate consultant for 3LE working with local authority clients, acting assistant chief executive at EEDA and as a Brussels and Strasbourg-based political assistant for a senior labour MEP.
Karen is an accredited CIPR member.
Karen is married, with a little girl and cat (named Clive).

Kim Regisford

Kim is a Chartered PR practitioner with over ten years' experience in public affairs and public relations. She has worked in both membership associations and multinational organisations, primarily leading on policy and strategic communications.
Kim holds an undergraduate degree in Law and International Politics and MA's in both International Relations and Communications Policy. Her most recent thesis sought to validate the role of mainstream media in political communications during the EU referendum.



Christine Bowles


Christine is currently Head, PR and Marketing at Renaix Ltd, an international recruitment and executive search consultancy, specialising in placing senior management, finance and audit professionals.
She has extensive experience in marketing, communications and general management gained within the service sector. Aside from professional services, these include roles in higher education, membership bodies and the civil service with UCL, the Law Society and the Cabinet Office.
Christine studied Law and Politics before completing an MSc in Marketing at Birkbeck College. Her recent dissertation explored how UK Trade Associations & Membership Bodies can engage stakeholders via Twitter & Social Media.
Christine is a Member of the CIPR and CIM.
